TonesBeep.....beep.....beep.....I sprang to my feetShaking the cob webs no longer asleep. Dart down the hall, past where my children lay Safe in there beds is where they will stay. Get to the station we dawn our gear Looking around, only friends are near. Everyone's life in your hands, and yours in theirs At the end of this trip, we will shed no tears. All of our training preparing for this Finding no one inside, this is our wish. Flames are blazing, two attack teams are ready Search team stands by, whose heart beats are heavy. The flames knocked down, smoke starts to diminish We hear all clear, the searchers are finished. Back home to our families no worse for the wear My wife doesn't even know that I was there. I lay back in my bed, nod off back too sleep Then off in the darkness beep.....beep......beep. |
